The Immigration and Customs Enforcement team has set up a hot line to “ensure that individuals being held by state or local law enforcement on immigration detainers are properly notified about their potential removal from the country and are made aware of their rights.” Finally Customs and Border Patrol have nabbed a drug boat off of the coast of Los Angeles.

Hispanic Dems pounce on ‘immigrant bashing’ Mitt Romney Congressmen Xavier Becerra and Charlie Gonzales noted that Mitt Romney’s stance on the popular DREAM Act will hurt his standing with the Hispanic Community. “The chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Rep. Charlie Gonzalez of Texas, and Rep. Xavier Becerra of California, said Romney’s immigration stance will hurt him with Hispanic voters. And they repeated the line from other Democrats that Romney’s positions are so muddied he can’t be trusted. Gonzalez and Becerra defended the DREAM Act, which would grant U.S. citizenship to immigrants who came into the United States illegally as children and now go to college or serve in the military. President Barack Obama has supported the legislation. Romney said Monday he would veto it.”

The 24-hour, 7-day toll-free hotline — (855) 448-6903– in English and Spanish, will be staffed by ICE personnel. Translation services will be available in several languages from 7 a.m. until midnight (Eastern) seven days a week. The initiative also includes a new detainer form meant to ensure that detainees are not held for longer than 48 hours as they wait to hear about their deportation status.”

Border Patrol Nabs Mexican Drug Boat Off Los Angeles Coast CBP has made a huge drug bust, arresting ten people and nabbing over a ton of Marijuana of the coast of LA. “U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested 10 people early Wednesday morning following a predawn interdiction off the coast of California that netted over a ton of marijuana from a Mexican “panga” boat.
